About Syringa Sands Bush Camp Site

The Bush Camp Site is beautifully located on the edge of a large dam on Syringa Sands Private Game Farm in the malaria free Waterberg in Limpopo. With the Seven Sisters mountain range in the background and an expansive view over the dam and wetland, the site allows for great sunsets, good bird watching and game viewing. If you are keen on some activity; there are 2 demarcated walking trails from the bridge; the dam offers some nice bass fishing, swimming and boating. Bring your mountain bikes and explore 25km of dirt tracks. Enjoy the farm on foot or bicycle, regret no quads or vehicles; we offer game drives in our Land Rover game viewer instead. There is only one campsite on the 1,000 HA farm - suitable for up to 8 campers (4 tents/4 cars). With your booking you automatically reserve the entire camp and you and your party will have exclusive use of the site. There is a neat thatched ablution facility with one toilet and one (hot and cold gas geyser) shower and dish washing area. Campers can make use of the large thatched Lapa, large dining table and chairs as well as the braai area. Please remember to bring wood and drinking water. Water for the ablutions is pumped from the dam. There is also a self catering cottage suitable for 6 on Syringa Sands, about 2.5 km downstream from the Bush Camp Site. Guests staying in the cottage might also visit the dam for some fishing, rowing or swimming. Wildlife, including zebra, impala, bushbuck and giraffe, roam this area freely and the nearby wetlands are a haven for a variety of bird life with kingfishers being regular summer visitors. Syringa Sands is a working game farm and you may enjoy a tour of the endangered roan antelope breeding project; which we will gladly arrange. As we are tucked away in a remote spot, you will travel about 45km on a generally well graded dirt road; off road caravans and - during the rainy season - a higher clearance vehicle are recommended. Also, bring solar panels as there is no Eskom power and limited connectivity.

Safari: Join us for a short stay on the way to Botswana, the Kruger or Marakele National Park. Or linger longer and enjoy a game drive on Syringa Sands private game reserve with a visit to the roan antelope breeding program.

Family friendly: Enjoy a few nights away from the city, bring bicycles, fishing rods and hiking boots and make it an active family getaway in a gorgeous bush veld setting.

We had a wonderful stay at Syringa Sands Bush Camp. Left Friday after work to escape the bustling Pretoria expecting a peaceful and quiet weekend in the bush being surprised with even more than we had hoped for. I can't remember the last time I saw so many shooting stars.Saturday morning we woke up to the snorting of a family of Red Hartebeest and while enjoying a refreshing coffee saw the ever curious giraffe on the other side of the dam.To top that, it was exciting to see the owner of the farm come say "hi" with his striking yellow kit plane. Enough to make any aviation enthusiast want...

We went for a short two night camp and absolutely loved it. The farm is huge, and we had it all to ourselves. Thanks to Sean for providing such a wonderful place for people to enjoy.

We enjoyed being the only campers in the campsite. The scenery is beautiful with the sighting of Giraffe and Zebra amongst others. We enjoyed mountain biking which was on the roads, and provided enough of a challenge. I would suggest you take drinking water along to Syringa Sands. Definitely a place to return to.
