About Swartheuwel

Swartheuwel offers tranquil self-catering accommodation with breathtaking views of the Verlorenvlei, just 10 km outside of Elands Bay. It is far enough to escape the city noise but still close enough for a weekend breakaway from Cape Town.

Accommodation is offered in five self-catering units, each with an open-plan layout. Each unit contains a queen-size bed, a sleeper couch, an en-suite bathroom, and a kitchen area that is well equipped with a bar fridge, a small stove, kettle, and enough cutlery, crockery, pots and pans for three guests. All of the rooms face the Verlorenvlei. The Verlorenvlei is popular for swimming and fishing.

In addition, Swartheuwel offers a function venue that can seat up to 120 guests, ideal for a wedding or any special functions. The main building has enough tables, chairs and crockery for up to 120 people.

Wedding Venues: The main building is perfect for functions such as weddings. The venue is big enough for 120 people. We also provide tables, chairs, etc. We do not do catering, but we can advice you to some of the local caterers.

The place was great until the other guests arrived. They played loud music until 5oclock the next morning when they started drinking again. We had the worst night ever and couldn't sleep the whole nightWhen reporting this the next morning, we were told it's out of there hands so we packed up and go. We paid for two units for two nights but end up staying only one night. We haven't received money back and had to look for other accommodation and had to spend more money.
