About Sunbird Guest House
Welcome to our 4 Star graded bed and breakfast in the tranquil town of Howick, the hub of the Midlands Waterfall Country, just one hour from Durban and four and a half hours from Johannesburg. Situated 1.5 km from the N3, the guest house is set in a beautiful country environment where guests are invited to relax in a quiet landscaped bird and Japanese garden.
For the weary traveller this bed and breakfast offers good value with a high standard of quality and security. Your host Nicky lives in the garden cottage, connected by intercom keeping the personal touch. After a long day's journey or outing, rejuvenate, relax and experience the effects of a massage in our private Superior Spa Jacuzzi or sunbathing nearby on our secluded private lawn.
English breakfasts, or alternatives by prior request, are served in the outdoor gazebo. Dining and barbecue facilities are also available and we offer a courtesy fridge with soft drinks and more. There are many restaurants in the area, as well as several shopping centres, a bottle store and ATM, post office, butcher, take away, and hair dresser.
Guest house features include DStv and off-street parking with remote controlled access.
Golf: We are located close to several golf courses. Sakabula being the closest at about 2km away.
Family friendly: We have a 2 bedroom family suite and a 2 bedroom self-catering cottage, There are 2 seperate gardens. One with fish ponds and swing set to keep children occupied.
Covid Safety Approved: We pledge to implement a high standard of hygiene and cleaning protocols to ensure the safest environment possible for our guests. We adhere to the industry safety protocols set out by the Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA).
Please note that the rates displayed for the Self-catering Cottage are for two guests and additional guests will pay an additional R200.00 per person; hence we advise guests to request the appropriate tariffs.
