Stone Haven at Nieu Bethesda is nestled in the heart of the Greater Karoo, at the foot of the Sneeuberge. The town is located a mere 50 km from Graaff Reinet.
World renowned for being home to the late Helen Martins’ extraordinary “Owl House”, it has also become a popular retreat for artists, writers or those wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Craft shops and galleries, potteries and sculpture gardens are scattered throughout the town, and visitors can also enjoy bushman paintings, fossils, climbing, hiking, bird-watching, mountain-biking, horse-riding, game-viewing, star-gazing or stoep-sitting (yes, it’s a thing in the Karoo).
