Smithland is situated in the heart of Tygerberg, a mere 15-minute drive from Cape Town city center. Our attention to detail ensures safe, comfortable and luxurious accommodation.
Smithland offers homely accommodation in a security complex at the foot of the Tygerberg in the Northern Suburbs.
Each self-catering apartment is fully furnished and has its own character. The bedrooms have a radio alarm, safe, heater, fan, and hairdryer. Clean linen and towels are provided. The open-plan living room has peaceful décor and television and invites you to relax. The kitchen is equipped with a microwave, stove, kettle, frying pan, toaster, iron and shelf, crockery, cutlery, dishwasher, and crockery.
The grounds are well maintained and there is a braai facility and fenced pool. Please note that the use of the pool is not available due to the water shortage. Parking is available under carports in the security complex. Our office is across from the complex offering extra services such as a first aid kit, babysitting service, and fax and photocopier. We also provide free internet for our guests in our office.
The N1 is conveniently close and offers convenient access to the Waterfront and Century City with all its shops, restaurants and entertainment. Smithland is also just a 15-minute drive from the airport.

Although, we at Smithland pride ourselves in providing accommodation that adheres to reputable safety standards, all guests or visitors, should hereby take note and accept that should they not use the facility as indicated or in any other circumstances improper fashion for instance strolling of from the normal pathways, accidents may occur. Neither ,Smithland nor its staff or employees will be held liable for any injury to or damage of property to any guest or visitors, if such, injury or damage to property was caused by any circumstances without its reasonable control. This includes any consequential damages caused as result of such injury or damage to property.
Please store all valuable items in the Guesthouse safe or any other secure facility as Smithland will not accept liability with regards to the disappearance or damage of valuable items of guests or visitors, unless such disappearance or damage has regard to any situation within the Business’s reasonable control.
Smithland will accept no liability in the event of the following:
• guests/visitors leaving/losing any valuable goods at the swimming pool or communal area;
• guests/visitors leaving their apartments doors open/unlocked, unless the management of Smithland has specifically requested the doors to be kept open/unlocked for necessary maintenance or cleaning services, whilst valuable items are left in the apartment;
Rules of conduct
Smithland Accommodation endeavours to promote an environment in which patrons feel safe, relaxed and welcome to enjoy the facilities provided, and as such will not tolerate disorderly, disruptive and/or aggressive conduct behaviour from patrons while on its premises. Should the Management of Smithland Accommodation request the patron to cease such behaviour and he/she fails to do so, the patron/s will be requested to leave the premises immediately without compensation.
Smithland Accommodation shall further not be liable to any other patron of the facility for any disturbances they may experience as a result of any other patron failing to comply with the business’s rules and regulations, unless the business failed to attempt to remedy the situation in an appropriate manner.
Persons who fail to comply with these rules and regulations also agree that they can be held liable for any damage loss or injury suffered by Smithland Accommodation, its staff and patrons.
The person making the booking is responsible for all users of the accommodation. The same applies to damages sustained to furniture etc. The accommodation is booked and used entirely at own risk and the Body Corporate is indemnified against any loss / harm / injury sustained while using the venue.
No loud noise after 10 PM during the week and 11 PM over weekends.
YOU ARE ENTITLED TO ONE PARKING BAY. YOUR PARKING BAY IS THE SAME NR AS YOUR UNIT NR. NO VISITOR PARKING INSIDE THE COMPLEX. VEHICLES PARKED ILLEGALY WILL BE CLAMPED.
Units are serviced every day except on a Sunday and Public Holiday.
If you have any queries or problems during your stay, please do not hesitate to contact the 24 hour office number on 082 444 5609 immediately. The supervisor on duty will respond to your request immediately.
Extension of accommodation
If you intend to extend your stay, please contact the office to check on availability. You will be required to pay for the extra nights before an extension will be permitted.
NO PETS ALLOWED
The Management reserves the right to prohibit the use of the pool to any person and the right to remove persons whose behaviour is such that it interferes with the comfort and safety of others.
The pool area is unsupervised and persons using this area do so at own risk. The hotel takes no responsibility for damage done to persons or possessions in the area by themselves or others, nor is the hotel responsible for loss of possessions left unattended.
In order to ensure the enjoyment and safety of all who use the pool area, please follow these rules-
• Running; jumping and other activities are strictly prohibited.
• Items not directly designed for use in a pool area not to enter the water.
• Conventional swimwear is to be used at all times.
• Drunk and disorderly conduct is prohibited.
