About Riverman Cabin

There is nothing quite like escaping to the unspoilt splendour of the Highveld, far away from the city hustle and bustle. Riverman Cabin is situated in the Tonteldoos Valley, 25 km northeast of Dullstroom, which is only two-and-a-half hours' drive from Johannesburg.Riverman Cabin consists of seven independent cabins – three of which are stone and thatch cabins, and the other three are wooden cabins. All the cabins are fully furnished and equipped for a homely self-catering experience. All the cabins are open plan with cosy indoor fireplaces, as well as private, external braai areas with the wood stocked ready to set your fires ablaze.Riverman offers fly-fishing in three small, but well-stocked dams, a Driving Range, picnics on deman, beautiful scenery on the wattle walk and scrumptious meals at the Mine View restaurant. Bring along your golf clubs and test your skills at our Driving Range. Golf balls are charged at R40.00 per bucket (50 balls). We also have a small selection of clubs, for those who aren't regular players, but keen to give it a try. Afterwards, silence a rumbling tummy with a delicious meal at The Mine View Restaurant, where you can not only enjoy our infamous alcoholic slush puppies, but also the coldest Jagermeister shots in town! If the idea of Freshly Baked bread sounds enticing, you can order a bread, freshly baked on demand, in the restaurant.

Golf: Bring your clubs along and test your skills at the Mine view Driving Range! Clubs available for those who aren't regular players, but keen to give it a try.

Wedding Venues: Seating 50, our stunning white Chapel, coupled with breathtaking surroundings and views from the Chapel’s balcony (especially in summer), is the perfect venue for intimate weddings.

Family friendly: Bindle sticks can be purchased for the young ones to enjoy while exploring the farm.

Romantic: Picnics and romantic turn-downs which include sparkling wine upon arrival and romantic packages are available.

A small story, we went there as very good friends not knowing if we want to take it further, but I am over the moon in saying that we decided to take the next step. With God in our hearts and life we believe this relationship will go from strength to strength. Last but not lease your place was the perfect place to make that decision we will certainly be back. Your hospitality, friendliness and care made it so much easier. PS we love Jack (and his friend patches which we only get to know the last day.) take care and God bless.

The road to Riverman not the best, but part of the experience. The accommodation was excellent, well maintained and met all our expectations. The lack of cell phone reception made it an even better stay. It is a beautiful setting and the thunderstorms and lightning experienced during our stay, made it all the more special. We can definitely recommend the bacon and cheese burgers at the restaurant - they were absolutely delicious!

Thanks to Percy and Karin for a very lovely stay.We stayed in the Wiggly Stone cabin. Very nicely decorated and comfortable, love the fireplace. The food was also excellent. If you seek quiet serenity, fresh farm air and waking up to the birds chirping, this is the place to be. Will definitely be coming back for a longer stay. My little one had a blast playing with Jack the dog. Child and pet friendly. The road via Stoffberg is also quite manageable, the dirt road is not too bad.Hope to be back soon. Zach and Hanlie Smit

It is the second time we have stayed here. I think it is looking a little tired. No plug in bathroom basin. I think it needs new linen and the bathmat needs to be thrown out as well as the bathroom curtains. Otherwise the place is clean. Lovely fireplace for the cold nights.
