About Rickety Bridge

Situated on the outskirts of Franschhoek, nestled against the hillside and overlooking the vineyards and magnificent mountains, this historic Cape Dutch manor house has given visitors a welcome rest stop for nearly two centuries. At Rickety Bridge the views of unsurpassed splendour, lush surroundings, and fresh air of the Franschhoek Valley offer a unique and beautiful experience.

Indulge in wine tasting and luxury accommodation just a stone's throw away from South Africa’s very own Gourmet Capital. A visit to Rickety Bridge Wine Estate will tantalize your taste buds, still your mind, and rejuvenate your soul.

Renovated in 1995, modern facilities were introduced while priceless antique pieces representing the best of indigenous Cape furniture throughout the ages were carefully preserved. Recent refurbishments include luxury comforts and unique modern day artwork by local artists which adorn the walls of this beloved home, comfortably blending contemporary with classic and resulting in a tranquil, inviting atmosphere.

Rooms are luxurious and tastefully decorated and have all the comforts expected of a 4 Star establishment such as DStv, minibars, air-conditioning, underfloor heating, and heated towel rails.

Rickety Bridge Country House offers guests use of our private pool area and in winter months two lounge areas where you can enjoy a glass of sherry in front of the fireplace. Situated on a wine farm, we boast wine tasting facilities and a highly recommended restaurant, Paulina's Restaurant.

What a superb stay we had at Rickety Bridge!!! The setting was magnificent, the rooms luxurious and the staff friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this B&B to anybody who is looking for a luxury, quite get-away. The surrounding country side cannot be equalled. Cannot wait to return. Thank you

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, beautiful accommodation in lovely surroundings. Also great location for exploring the wine region. Well worth visiting Paarl and Stellenbosch. Would love to come back here one day and stay for longer.
