About Plumbago Guest House

Through the wrought-iron gates at the end of a bougainvillea-lined drive you will find Plumbago Guest House, as pretty as the flower that shares it's name. Set on an avocado and banana farm, the guest house sits above the plantation overlooking the Kruger National Park in the distance. 1940s jazz in the background offers just the right accompaniment to the nostalgic, Colonial-inspired setting.
Charming air-conditioned rooms feature sitting areas, en-suite bathrooms, tea trays, and fine bed linen which have the same casual gracefulness with subtle, natural tones, Jacobean print curtains, mahogany beds and abundance of vased and water-coloured flowers.
The elegant pool in the beautifully tended bird-filled garden allows for relaxation, and beauty treatments, activities, transfers, and safaris can also be arranged. Lunch and Dinner by arrangement only. Pet friendly -

-Sparkling clean and spacious rooms and a great location near Nelspruit, Phabeni and Numbi gates. Robbie and Ilara were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast included a wide variety of food. Delicious three course meal for dinner. Overall 5 star experience!

Our stay at the Plumbago guesthouse was Idyllic. The setting of the property, the hospitality of the owners, the outstanding guesthouse with a number of extremely nice details, the proximity to the Kruger park, the help with selecting the different tours, all of this was outstanding. By far our best experience in South Africa, the rest was pretty good as well....I can and will sincerely recommend this to others.

Illara and her staff were so friendly and accommodating, the guest house is beautiful and comfortable and so close to everything you would want to do in the area. I would highly recommend a visit and stay. It suited us perfectly, and as two families, we had to whole place to ourselves.

We very nearly didn't travel beyond Plumbago on our holiday in South Africa. It wasn't just "Home from Home", it was "Heaven from Home"!The location, set in flower filled gardens, was so tranquil and attracted beautiful birds and butterflies.Ilara's attention to detail was evident wherever you looked and the meals, as well as tasting fantastic, were presented with an artist's flair. We felt priviliged to be treated to Plumbago's special ambiance and would strongly recommend others to share it (as long as they don't steal our dates!!)
