About Pavetta Country House

The Pavetta Country House is in a beautiful tranquil setting where you can experience total relaxation. The house is scenically placed next to the Haenertsburg Trout Association’s trophy dam with great views over the dam and the Wood bush indigenous forest. There is a deck area with braai facilities overlooking the dam. Fly fishing is permitted with barbless flies. Fishing is on a catch and release basis only. A row boat is available for our guests use. The house is fully equipped for self catering, fitted with linen and towels and will be serviced daily; just bring your food, drinks and toiletries. Enough fire wood for the fireplaces is provided as well as charcoal for the braai. The house can accommodate 8 to 10 people easily. There are 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms: The main bedroom is e- suite and sleeps 4 people usually for a couple and two children. There is a nook next to the lounge with two beds. Guest sleeping here uses the guest bathroom with a shower. The other two bedrooms are down stairs, on the other side of the house and share a bathroom. It is ideal for use by older children, accompanying friends or another family. A DSTV decoder is available- please bring your own card. No smoking is permitted in the house. Access to the farm is mainly via a cement road, making it very accessible when it is wet in Magoebaskloof.

What to do in the area?

Enjoy tea at the Magoebaskloof hotel or Pekoe View with their spectacular views. Have a picnic at the Debegeni waterfalls. There is an abundance of birdlife in the indigenous forest of Magoebaskloof. Guided birding and fly fishing trips around the area can be booked at the local tourist office in Haenertsburg. Horse riding, Kloofing/Canyoneering, Rock Climbing or Abseiling can be arranged through local guides. There are also lovely guided 4X4 trails in the Wolkberg mountains, where one can visit awesome waterfalls, large caves and have beautiful vistas.

We loved the large house and open living areas. The fireplace was great on the cold evenings. The view fro the balcony when we had the barbeque was awesome and relaxing.Establishment's response:Thank you for your great review! You were an absolute pleasure to host and we look forward to hosting you again in future

Pavetta is stunning. While there are a few maintenance issues that need attention, none of them affected our stay. The rooms were impeccable and the house a pleasure to live in for 4 days. The children enjoyed the rowing boat and games room as well. The only criticism is a separate outside entrance for the downstairs rooms.

We had wonderful Easter holidays. Beautiful surroundings with a lot to do. Walking in the forest, fishing, relaxing and enjoying the view. My son said he wants to move here. Staff was very friendly. We want to come again. Thank You.

We had a lovely stay , found the room configuration a bit awkward, as the main room had two single beds made up, problem was my kids are both over 20 , and the rooms below were snapped up by the other family, so my kids ended up in the lounge.  Beautiful setting, conveniently situated. We were a group ranging in age from 20-58
