The B&B was nice - basic but clean. The room was quite cold, but a heater and hot water bottles were provided. The rooms weren't quite ready when we arrived (they were still putting up some newly washed curtains), but not a major inconvenience. One tip though: wouldn't recommend buying from the shop where you pick up the key. It was very over-priced - we found out that later that they sell products you can buy at the honesty shop at almost double the price!!

Basic accommodation with limited facilities, probably more suited for backpackers.

Nieu Bethesda is a typical old town with buildings to match. The web site for Outsiders needs an update as there is no adjacent shop. The accommodation is basic and clean, the shower cubicle is rather small. This was the first place we stayed at where there were no sheets on the bed, don't know if this is a new way of doing things!

We received a warm welcome in Nieu Bethesda not only from the weather but from Katrin as well. Lovely clean room, simple but comfortable furnishing, everything we needed. Katrin arranged a booking for dinner, which was delicious and a lovely breakfast in the morning. The night sky was SPECTACULAR! Thanks Katrin. Derek & Helen, Plumstead

Compassberg is 2502m high. From Ganora it takes about 1 hour todrive to the back from where you can start climbing. If you do not have a 4X4 it takes about 3 hours up and 3 hours down. With a 4X4 you can get further up the mountain to a point...
