About Oudemuragie Guest Farm

This picturesque farm is situated at the foot of the majestic Swartberg Mountains. In this tranquil and unspoiled nature paradise, guests will experience Old World hospitality. Various accommodation options are available in the cottages which are fully equipped for self-catering.

Oudemuragie offers the luxury choice of five different cottages. All of these cottages are fully equipped and the kitchens are fitted with all the necessary utensils and appliances for effective self-catering. The cottages are very aptly named in true Klein Karoo style - giving each one of them a unique character. Each house is privately situated with its own interesting garden, braai lapa and splendid views. Meals or special dishes are available on order and the swimming pool at the manor is available to guests during the hotter times of the year.

The various hiking trails on the farm meander up the mountainside between huge aloes and across the many perennial mountain streams. The nature lover will enjoy the rare bird and game species, age-old rock formations and diverse vegetation. The clear night sky’s silence and peacefulness makes a visit to this extraordinarily beautiful and serene farm more than a worthwhile experience.

Maggie is a superb host. Picked up pies for us in Derust and we got them delivered hot with a massive salad. Her "naeltjie brandewyn" also did the thing for my son's stomach. Lots to see and great photo opportunities.

Wow what a beautiful farm really living up to the expectations. We received a warm reception and a wonderful sent off by the owners. Cottages are clean and with everything on hand that's needed but nothing tops the view. Thank you very much Magie and Jan for you hospitality and sharing your beautiful farm with us.

Peaceful tranquil farm out of the way of traffic. Life slows down here and the night sky is more bright next the braai fire than anywhere else. A river runs trough and mountains surround it. In its hart are people set to make you feel right at home. The 9Km gravel road to the farm gate is well kept, almost stone less and nearly pothole less this time of year. The last 1Km on the farm needs slow going if you are in car as it is quite stoney.

These tours that commence only at sunrise are dependent on fair weather, since these little creatures will not venture outside their burrows on cold and rainy days. (No tours on rainy days & Christmas day). Meerkats are part of the so-called Shy 5...

Rust en Vrede is a lovely little waterfall that runs 365 days a year – even though it is found in the Klein Karoo. During the summer many people enjoy a picnic or braai under the trees at the entrance followed by a walk and a swim at this gorgeous...
