About Okahirongo River Camp
Okahirongo River Camp is an eco-friendly lodge built on a sweeping ridge, with breathtaking views of the Kunene River. The central area, constructed above the rapids, comprises two lounges, a library and dining room decked out in African elegance. Tucked far into the north western reaches of Namibia, the Marienfluss region is a remote wilderness area where the rough roads and lack of facilities keep travellers at bay. The Skeleton Coast Park borders the area in the west and the Kunene River, known to be rife with crocodiles, bisects the area in the north, creating a natural boundary with Angola.
The Marienfluss valley extends between two sets of mountains. Explore the magical surroundings on an early morning walk or a scenic drive into the mountains or golden sand dunes complete with unforgettable sundowners. The wonders of the Kunene River provide plenty of entertainment, be it fly-fishing or cruising along the river in awe of the rich bird life and mighty crocodiles.
