About Naara Eco-Lodge and Spa

Located behind the sand dunes of the Indian Ocean, in the coastline of Mozambique, you will find Naara Eco-Lodge and Spa - a luxury lodge and adventure heaven.

This exclusive paradise offers 10 Luxury Safari Tents which are surrounded by the African indigenous bush and overlook the calm waters of the Nhambavale Lake. These tents are built by mixing canvas tents and walls with large wooden doors allowing guests to feel the nature. Each tent is decorated with imported Balinese furniture and is furnished with a king-size bed and protected by a mosquito net. The tents are strategically placed so that all have beautiful views but still ensures privacy for the guests. They have covered verandahs which are furnished with comfortable sofas. The indoor en-suite facilities open to private secluded gardens where outdoor showers are found.

Not only does the calm, expansive lake serve as a tranquil and picturesque backdrop for the lodge, it also offers guests entertainment in the form of swimming, fresh water fishing, kayaking, windsurfing and kitesurfing. Birding, horse riding and community walks are also on offer, as well as the full moon rise walk which is a must to experience.

The ocean is close at hand with the unspoilt beach of Chidenguele located 2 km away. A wide variety of fish and other marine species live in the warm waters of Mozambique, turning its coasts into ideal deep fishing, snorkelling and diving safari destinations. Guests can either sunbathe by the water or take part in some of the activities on offer.

For dining, the lodge has developed fine recepies that merge local ingredients with concepts of international cuisine. While enjoying fine meals, guests can appreciate the superb views of the Nhambavale Lake. Guests may also dine privately at their own verandah or on full moon nights, dine on the pier overlooking the rising moon.

Built on top of a rustic wooden platform, Natura Spa gives the impression of floating on the waters of the lake. More than massages are offered including a set of treatments that will make you feel rejuvenated. While all treatments can be given separately, carefully elaborated packages allow visitors to indulge completely.

The accommodation was excellent and the view and the owners were very friendly and the staff were very helpful. But the food is very average and nothing special and very expensive for what you get. You cannot bring food in there so you have to eat what they provide this was the only thing that bothered us.

The second we walked into reception we were greeted by the friendly staff which included Benilde. Shown to our beautiful room powered by solar, we had a view of the special lake. The Spa experience was AMAZING, would definitely recommend it. A packed picnic was provided for us as we were off to the beach. Dinner that night was spent on the extended deck out into the lake, the perfect place for me to ask my long time girlfriend to marry me. I couldn't have asked for a more romantic setting. Will definitely be back.

We went to Naara for honeymoon, the experience was amazing.Arrived at night, and with the little lighting around (being an eco place and all) the place looked kinda spooky. but the welcome was very warm, and the food delicious.the following morning we were welcomed with the spectacular view from our tent (which is beautiful and very well decorated btw), and our royalty treatment continued as we were the only guests in the lodge. We were spoilt and felt really at home for the time we were there (even had a massage and candle lit dinner as honeymoon package). the staff made us feel very welcome...

My partner and I just returned from an amazing week-long holiday at Naara Eco-Lodge and Spa. We will definitely be going back soon. The staff were amazingly friendly and really made us feel welcome. The lodge itself is breathtakingly beautiful. Fresh great tasting food only further complimented our wonderful stay. Thank you!!

My boyfriend and I visited Naara for the duration of Easter and we had so much fun. The people(staff)were very nice & friendly, the manager was fantastic and so understanding, especially since we arrived very late at night and she had to wait for us. The place is very beautiful, calm and laid back, we had a wonderful relaxed time at Naara. The only challenge with Naara is the food, they need to improve on the type of foods offered because most of the foods on the menu are not available even on request. They need to add more different types of FRUITS and also indicate on their menu that some...

Wenela Tidal Pool

(56.9 km from Chidenguele)

Wenela Tidal Pool, two kilometres south of Xai-Xai, is a fascinating natural treasure. The tidal pool has a natural channel that leads underground into the ocean, creating a "blow-hole" effect that is something to be seen.
