About Mount Camdeboo Private Game Reserve

Mount Camdeboo Private Game Reserve is situated just to the east of Graaff-Reinet, in the heart of the Eastern Cape's Great Karoo, and offers an exceptional malaria-free safari experience in a region steeped in history and culture. Privately owned and with a passion for conservation, Mount Camdeboo Private Game Reserve is home to numerous endangered species that have been successfully rehabilitated into this unique part of South Africa in the heart of South Africa's malaria-free Great Karoo region.

This 14 000 hectare property lies cupped in the palm of the Sneeuberg mountain range, the second-highest range in South Africa. It provides guests with a unique game viewing experience due to the combination of four biomes and an altitude range of almost 5000 feet. From the bush thickets and riverine areas to the plateau grass plains with the backdrop of the majestic mountains, every game drive is a breathtakingly beautiful experience.

We offer three Cape Dutch homesteads which have been meticulously restored to celebrate a fusion of traditional curves and modern open-plan living spaces. Every room is furnished with the most luxurious textures and materials creating a relaxed elegance that allows our guests to feel at home. Between the three Manors, there is a combined total of 12 spacious double bedrooms, each en-suite, and one of which is a secluded honeymoon suite offering a truly romantic destination throughout the year.

Full-length swimming pools at each manor cool guests in the haze of high summer, while boma dining, game drives, and guided walks conjure up the magic of days gone by.

The sheer stillness and fresh air at Mount Camdeboo are also highly conducive to successful executive brainstorming. A fully equipped and dedicated conference venue accommodates up to 24 delegates in air-conditioned comfort, with pre-arranged day excursions as an optional extra.

This being said, Mount Camdeboo is the ideal honeymoon, family or conference destination, offering a perfect blend of tradition and modern comforts. A visit to Mount Camdeboo is bound to restore all of your senses; it will allow you to catch your breath and synchronize with the heartbeat of nature.
