About Moontide Guest Lodge

Wilderness Beach Cottage does not belong to the Garden Route; it belongs to the 'Garden of Eden'

This beautifully appointed guest house offers unparalleled access to the Wilderness lagoon's ever-changing moods and varied birdlife.

Choose from seven en-suite cottages each with their own entrance and views of the luxuriant gardens and wilderness lagoon. We regret no children under 8-years-old, without prior arrangement. Moon tide is one minute from the beach, 5 minutes from Wilderness restaurants, Kingfisher trails and the famous Outeniqua steam train.

Pretty rooms with a personal touch. The girls were happy to use the pedalo boat and explore the lagoon. Nice breakfast on the beautiful terrace. This was our second stay - we come again!

Rather disappointed with the quality of our room. Did not compare with 4 star standard of rooms which we have stayed in previous  3 nights. On the website the rooms look lovely, but Milkwood is below par. A little tired! Breakfast was very good, and so was our welcome.

Wonderful Guest House overlooking the lagoon of Wilderness. Perhaps our best accommodation in South Africa. The cottage was luxurious, furnished in style and very comfortable. Excellent breakfast served in the beautiful garden. Very kind and friendly the manager.

I can't recommend Moontide Guest Lodge highly enough. What we got for the price we paid was exceptional. Absolutely beautiful rooms, with the greatest attention to detail. We felt that we got far more than we expected.

Map of Africa in Wilderness lookout point is situated near Hoekwil. The setting of the river flowing around the hill makes the view look like a map of Africa. It is also a very popular paragliding spot, and has spectacular views of the Wilderness...

Brownhooded Kingfisher Trail

One of the least demanding walks in the Wilderness area, the 5 km Brownhooded Kingfisher Trail follows the meandering course of the Duiwe River. Lush river woodlands line the riverbanks and the path crosses the river frequently. Take care when...
