About Montusi Self-Catering Cottages

The Montusi Self-Catering Cottages are privately owned holiday homes situated on the Montusi Estate. The cottages are situated within a fenced complex with the Montusi Mountain Lodge.

There is a large, beautiful, natural-look swimming pool and a tennis court. Guests have access to the 1000-hectare conservation estate for hiking and trail-running. The 100km Mountain Bike trail network of Drakensberg Trails can be accessed right from the complex; trail passes are required and can be purchased at the main reception. There are also 2 trout dams and a bass dam for fishing; permits for sale at the main reception.

Montusi is a quiet, peaceful place perfect for those looking to relax and rejuvenate their souls. Loud music is not permitted.

Loved the view, peacefulness, walks, summer thunderstorms, comfortable self catering accommodation, birds, waterfalls.....a superb mountain retreat!

We visited Montusi with our 3 young adult children and had a lovely time. The unit was clean and tidy with everything you need, and the view was great! The staff was extremely kind and helpful. Only the lounge and main bedroom were fitted with ceiling fans and it was a pity that the loft room and second bedroom did not have the same. We had pleasant weather but on the hot days, we would have appreciated fans in those rooms.Except for the few hikes and horse riding on the premises, there is not much to do on Montusi, but fortunately other activities were available close by.
