About AHA Makalali Private Game Lodge

Makalali Private Game Lodge comprises four camps; Tandane, Mkhiwa, Emtomeni and Phiva. Each camp features six luxury suites, a plunge pool, private viewing deck, dining area, and Boma. All the camps are private, yet within easy access of one another and are all situated on the banks of the Makhutswi River.

Each Suites includes an en-suite bathroom plus an outdoor shower, a fireplace and a raised, private deck called a salat. The rooms are individually decorated in African design styles, with sculptured metalwork lamp shades, taps and ceramic basins.

Makalali boasts the Big 5, namely lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo. Other characteristic species are cheetah, giraffe, zebra and kudu. Guests can join the two scheduled game drives each day for a chance to view these wild animals in their natural habitat.

Dining at Makalali is a culinary adventure. The Cuisine is a combination of regional African cuisine which represents a melting pot of cooking styles left behind by centuries of exploration on this great continent.

Conference Venues: Makalali is renowned for hosting events with a difference and the Tandane camp offers a group entertainment / conference centre. This conference facility is situated within close proximity to all our camps and can host up to 60 delegates.
