About Madisa Camp

Madisa Campsite is situated on the popular D2612 road going towards Twyfelfontein, in Namibia. The camp is hidden between unusual rock formations and is privy to a desert elephant route, that often gets visited by these beautiful giants.

There are nine Private Campsites with their own ablution facilities, and five large Overland Sites with shared ablution facilities. Each campsite has lovely views of the Gauntegab River bed and rock formations, as well as solar-powered lights.

The ablution facilities are built on stilts and hidden in the tree tops. The braai areas also double-up as a donkey system for hot running water at each open-air shower.

The swimming pool and bar area are tucked away among the granite rocks, very welcoming after a long day and socializing with other guests. Game drives, sun downers, village walks, and tracking the desert-adapted elephants are some activities to enjoy.

We LOVED Madisa Camp. Damaraland is beautiful and Madisa Camp made the experience memorable, spending the night in tents with an outside shower and the most beautiful view from a koppie nearby.

Very attractive surroundings but awful approach roads. We were a bit surprised to have to pay for firewood in order to have hot water for the shower.

We all thought Madisa was wonderful, rustic yet tasteful and very comfortable with beautiful surroundings and friendly hosts.

the campsite is really rural, only 2 hours of electricity at night via a generator, you can heat your own water for the shower with use of firewood, the shower is under the stars and gives you a real outdoor experience. We had campsite 1 with a big tree and made a campfire and BBQed ourselfs. There is no pool, it was very dirty so no swim after a long drive what is a bit disappointing. Not a luxurious place but very nice to experience being remote. There is no fuel station and no shops anywhere near, so do bring all your food/water etc to sustain yourself

We stopped here for a 1-night stop on our way to Etosha.  Its a great spot, and great hosts. We stayed in a safari tent, very private.  Sitting on top of the koppies with a beer to watch the sunset was one of our highlights of our trip to Namibia.Highly recommended!
