About Lamu Fisherman's
Lamu Fishermen's is a classic Shela house retaining the beautiful design and artefacts of Lamu life. It is as well positioned as any waterfront house in Lamu and enjoys a totally unobstructed view over to Manda Island.The house has four spacious bedrooms and four bathrooms. There is a fully equipped kitchen and an open-plan dining area and lounge leading onto a balcony overlooking the bay. When staying here you become a part of Shela’s beach life. Please check your confirmation and balance very carefully to see that all details are correct. Please contact us immediately should any information be incorrect as it may not be possible to make changes later. We cannot accept liability should you fail to notify us more than 10 days after receipt of the confirmation and balance and you will be liable for any costs then incurred in rectifying these errors.
The principal guest will be responsible for paying a deposit of 50% of the price on booking and then the remaining 50% of the price two months prior to the arrival date. Swahili Sands shall receive no less than the exact amount due on the invoice, net of any and all charges. Payment must be made by bank transfer. The principal guest must handle all aspects of the booking and make a maximum of two payments.
Once we have sent your confirmation and balance, no further reminder will be sent. All balances paid after the due date specified on the invoice will be subject to a 2% late payment administration charge. Should the balance continue to remain unpaid, we reserve the right to cancel the booking and levy cancellation charges.
The principal guest is responsible for the behaviour of all guests. You undertake to behave in such a manner as not to disrupt the enjoyment of others in Lamu, and undertake not to prejudice our reputation with our customers, the owners of our accommodation or our suppliers. The holiday of any guest or party in breach of this clause may be terminated immediately and we will have no further contractual obligations towards him or them.
The property is to be treated with care at all times. Any damages or defects are to be reported to Swahili Sands within 24 hours. In addition we reserve the right to recover in Lamu the cost (or estimated cost if an actual cost is not yet known) of any loss, damage or breakage caused by you. The principal guest shall be fully liable for any damage caused by him/her/them and shall indemnify and hold Swahili Sands harmless for any damage caused to the licensed property by him/her/them.
The principal guest shall not allow more than the maximum number of to stay at the licensed property at any one time. The principal guest agrees that he/she/they will be responsible for and on behalf of any minors accompanying him/her/them.
In all the arrangements we have made for your holiday we have taken reasonable steps to ensure that the suppliers of the services used are of an acceptable standard. However, we would point out that we do not own or control the organisations providing transport or accommodation. We cannot accept liability where the provision of services is interrupted by reason of war, threat of war, riot, civil strife, industrial dispute, closure or congestion of airports or airways, technical problems to transport, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disaster, fire or adverse weather conditions. The principal guest shall be fully liable for any damage caused to the property, including its contents, and shall indemnify and hold Swahili Sands harmless for any damage caused to the licensed property by him/her/them.
