Klipheuwel Country House
About Klipheuwel Country House
Klipheuwel Country House is a typical late Victorian homestead that dates back to the feather-boom period of the early 1900's. It is a boutique guest house, situated on a working ostrich farm, just 7 minutes drive from Oudtshoorn, direction Mossel Bay/Cape Town. We promise an unforgettable Klein Karoo experience with unspoiled views of the Swartberg Mountains. Spectacular sunsets, starlit skies, tranquil surroundings and a relaxing atmosphere will be the highlights of your stay.
Our rooms are spacious, en-suite and north facing with magnificent views over the Swartberg Mountains. The rooms open onto a wooden deck with a large salt-water swimming pool and gazebo. Each room is individually decorated and designed with a personal touch. The rooms are separate from the manor house and is well-equipped with air conditioning, mini bar fridge, television and other luxury necessities.
The twin room with single beds and en-suite bathroom (shower only) open onto the wooden deck area with salt-water swimming pool and gazebo. The room is equipped with air conditioning, mini bar fridge, tea and coffee facilities, television and other luxury amenities. Linen and towels provided.

Our specialty is our breakfast which is served with personal attention, detail and care. In summer, breakfast is served on the deck next to the swimming pool, overlooking the spectacular Swartberg Mountain Range - known as a World Heritage Site. According to one of our guests - “breakfast is not a breakfast, until you've experienced it at Klipheuwel”
Spend summer or winter on the deck in front of the rooms. Sunbath at the swimming pool, relax under the gazebo, snuggle under a blanket in-front of the fire or experience the breathtaking sunsets of the Klein Karoo while enjoying sun-downers.
The farm offers self-guided walking trails through ostrich camps. A guided farm tour can also be arranged by prior arrangement.
Klipheuwel is owner managed by Laubscher and Elmarie Coetzee who invite you to enjoy their friendly hospitality.
