About Kimbo Lodge Backpackers
The Kimbo Backpackers is situated on the corner of Buitenkant and Roeland Streets, on the border between the beautiful Gardens suburb and the CBD. This Cape Town landmark was built in 1895 and was the starting point for horse-drawn carriages leaving Cape Town for Kimberley.
The Kimberley Hotel boasts a restaurant, The Kitchen, serving delicious breakfasts, lunches and suppers. The famous old Pub, where you can enjoy a drink at the same counter that the diamond prospectors sat at 120 years ago, operates 24/7. From the Backpackers, guests can quench their thirst admiring Table Mountain, or take a two-minute walk to the District Six Museum. Being on the edge of the city, it is only a five-minute walk to Parliament and the Cape Castle, and a further 15-minute drive to the famous Table Mountain Cableway. The hotel offers 12 bedrooms and a sunset balcony.
On occasions, the Backpackers may be noisy to some due to the late night vibrant pub on the ground floor but you can also join in the fun!!
