Philippolis takes its name from the revered John Philip of the London Missionary Society, a testament to its significant role as a missionary outpost for the Bushman in 1823. Delve into the fascinating past of this region, where in 1826, Griqua leader Adam Kok II and his people settled here and were entrusted with the mission's guardianship.
