About Hippo Pools Resort
Hippo Pools Resort offers a range of self-catering accommodation, from luxurious riverside houses to smaller budget rooms. Wildlife roaming the property includes hippo, waterbuck, duiker, vervet monkeys, honey badgers as well as a fantastic range of birdlife.
Riverside houses are situated on the banks of the Olifants River; all have private splash pools, fully equipped kitchens and a braai area looking onto the river. Rooms at the resort are ideal for individual travellers or couples visiting the area. Every room has basic self-catering facilities of two plate stove, kettle, fridge, pots pans and coffee and tea making facilities. All accommodation is serviced daily and all linen is provided please bring swimming towels.
All rooms are self-catering; however, there is a great restaurant only 2 km away from us who offer an a la carte menu. If you are enjoying relaxing at the river, why not let us make your side dishes for your own braai.
The resort boasts a small riverside chapel for intimate weddings, a private airstrip for avid aviator’s microlight trips can be arranged for anyone keen to give it a try, a large swimming pool, games room and tea garden for light snacks and drinks.
The resort is a fantastic base to explore the area, situated 55 km from the Phalaborwa gate and 100 km from the Orpen gate of the Kruger Park.
