About Heysbrook Lodge

The lodge is only available to groups of 10 people or more. Heysbrook Country Lodge is an exclusive country lodge, set in a secluded valley of 1300 hectares, which becomes a gorge on the Mpumalanga escarpment. Despite its privacy, the entrance to the property is directly off the N4 highway, one kilometre east of Waterval Onder, below the Elands falls.

All bedrooms are approximately 50-square meters and have private views. The rooms have two single beds or one king-size bed. Each en-suite bedroom has a fireplace, and are generously spaced apart from the lodge and other bedrooms. There is a meandering wooden boardwalk that takes you through the three-hundred year-old stone kraal ruins, around which the lodge was built.

Heysbrook is made up of a centrally positioned lodge, comprising of the living areas. There is a bar, a dining room, a lounge, indoor and outdoor verandas, as well as wooden decks that flow from one area to another. The adjacent kitchen is an integral part of the lodge, providing a homely atmosphere. There is DStv in the bar and in the conference room.

There are amazing guided hikes to historical landmarks on the farm, including an old goldmine dating back to 1924. There are approximately 200 m of tunnels dug horizontally into the side of the mountain. There is also a stunning hike up to the biggest Kiepersol in the area and many more.

We were blown away on arrival by the main lodge. It is absolutely magnificent. The rich wood and stone finishes are really beautiful and the bar with the dart board and darts was a hit.The rooms with fireplaces that heat the room and the bathroom are sumptuous and the bed one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The biggest hit for the kids was the stream and the rock pool with the natural rock slides into it.The staff were excellent, friendly and very unobtrusive, but always there when needed. The only improvement that we could suggest is that the walking trails could be better demarc...

Perfect weekend getaway. We thoroughly enjoyed the weekend. The lodgings were clean and in great shape. Facilities and service were amazing.I do not have enough words to do justice to what we experienced. Always hard to please everyone but in our case we were all left stunned. We are certainly going to make it anext annual ritual to visit Heysbrook.Special thanks to Gerald (Manager) and his team for making it a weekend to remember.
