Watamu is a small 7 km long peninsula that is a recognized UN biosphere with the Watamu Marine Park on one side, the Mida Creek Mangrove Reserve on the other, and the Arabuko-Sokoke Forest Reserve stretching along the edge of the Creek. Watamu is located 20 km south of Malindi Airport and 100 km north of Mombasa Airport on the Kenyan coast.
Every one of the Hemingways’ 76 beautifully appointed rooms offers delightful views of the Indian Ocean and the endless white sandy beach of Watamu Marine Park. Room features include air-conditioning, free broadband and Wi-Fi Internet access, ceiling fans, a telephone, in-room safe, tea and coffee-making facilities, a fully stocked minibar, and a hairdryer.
Facilities include two large swimming pools, a tennis court with equipment and a coach, a gift shop and jewellery shop, a library, business centre, and a massage centre and salon offering a variety of treatments. Activities in and around the area include deep-sea fishing, dhow trips, outstanding cuisine, visits to Gede Ruins, and bird-watching at Muda Creek and Arabuko Sokoke Forest.
The rates include half board basis, bed, breakfast, dinner and afternoon tea, free wireless Internet in all the bedrooms, airport transfers from and to Malindi Airport, scheduled snorkelling trips to the Marine Park, excluding Marine Park fees, scheduled trips to Malindi and Gede ruins, excluding park entrance fees.
