About Grande Roche
Nestled at the foot of the magnificent Paarl Rock is a small, luxury hotel like no other. The only South African member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, it is a place where history intersects with a funky modernity. It is a place where the gentle rhythms of a working fruit and wine farm are a short walk away from a bustling country town. At the Grande Roche Hotel, you will experience the privacy and tranquillity of comfortable and stylish suites nestled among the vineyards of our farm.
The moment you first set foot in one of our suites at the Grande Roche Hotel, you will feel that you have finally found the place where you can feel at home. When you experience the tranquil privacy of each suite, you will know that this is the five-star luxury that you truly deserve. Add to that the stunning views that each suite offers and it is as if you have escaped to your own personal country estate!
With 28 unique, individually named suites and rooms the experience is as personal as each guest. Just as the guests are not numbers so the rooms are named and each reflects a different personality. Enjoy the sense of travelling the spice route with Java and Batavia. Celebrate the grape varietals of Hermitage, Semillon and more. The converted stable areas reflect the horses that were part of the farm while the flowers that bloom in the gardens all have their place. The various varieties of plums grown in the orchards are also memorialised in the names; each title reflecting an aspect of the heritage.
When you arrive, you’ll be personally greeted by a member of the Guest Services team, offered a welcome drink of your choice and escorted to your room via the beautifully manicured gardens. You’ll feel a sense of belonging as you explore the centuries-old buildings on the estate and the rich biodiversity of the Paarl nature reserve. The farm was one of the first to be allocated in the valley in 1687 and is the origin of the Bosman clan in South Africa. Be inspired by the unique mix of heritage and innovation, elegance and easy approachability, the Grande Roche Hotel embraces the old and new with equal vitality.
Take your taste buds on a journey of culinary delight in the award-winning restaurants and let them sing to the tune of the hotel’s expert chefs. From the casual and relaxed atmosphere of Bistro Allegro to the fine dining of Bosman’s or the intimate sophistication of the private dining room, each mouthful you take will be a journey to a sensory paradise. Dine on the terrace in the summer months and take in the views that make the setting of this hotel so spectacular.
Value for money, inspired menus and the freshest of ingredients are the hallmark of the taste experience.
