About Gerda's Place
Gerda’s Place is situated in St Lucia in KwaZulu-Natal, within driving distance of the Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve and within walking distance of several restaurants, shops and fruit markets in town. Nearby activities include boat cruises, hiking, Zulu village tours, fishing, diving, and whale watching.
St Lucia Wetlands Park was declared a World Heritage site in 1999 at an unveiling ceremony where Nelson Mandela was guest of honour. The park was proclaimed a World Heritage site because of the huge biodiversity occurring in a relatively small area. Animals in the park include elephants, leopard, black and white rhino, buffalo, and in the ocean, whales, dolphins, and marine turtles including the leatherback and loggerhead turtle.
Gerda’s Place is a very private garden flat with its own entrance and can accommodate up to four guests. The unit features DStv, air-conditioning and barbecue facilities.
Guests should bring their own towels otherwise towels will be supplied on request at a small extra fee.
