About Gamboozini Lodge

Three hours south of Maputo you will find one of the last places on Earth that can still be considered paradise. Ponta Do Ouro which means 'point of gold', is where our lodge, a mere few minutes' walk from the beach, is situated.

We have a luxury bungalow and a selection of lovely bungalows with a queen bed and en-suite toilet and shower, dorm rooms for both small and large groups and there is space for those who want to camp. We guarantee cleanliness and absolute comfort; all rooms have fans and quality mosquito nets.

The lodge has a quality restaurant and bar, serving up great food with freshly made bread. We also have a grill for campers who want to do their own cooking. Sheltered behind a hill, the lodge is a mere few minutes' walk from the beach. We are a short way from the bustling city yet close enough to the water, making it the most ideal location.

Ponta Do Ouro is a place where one can swim with wild dolphins, dive down up to 50 meters to reefs packed with sea life, go on nature walks, or go deep sea fishing, kayaking or kite-surfing. You also have the choice of a busy night life or a quiet night away from it all.

Ponta is one of the top ten dive sites in the world, it is part of several reefs along the coastline each with their own unique character. Diving gear is available for hire.

Upon arrival after driving 8 hours we were pleasantly informed that they had given our fully paid pre booked room to another couple. There was no solution to their mistake only complaints and excuses from their side. After 3 hours their was absolutely nothing done and we were only refunded but they failed tosecure us another spot and expected us to pay for it. Disgusted Terrible hospitalityUseless management Stay away from this horrible experience

Gamboozini Lodge was sold to us as a lodge via Safarinow.com which it definitely is not, it is a great backpackers/camping venue. We had campers right outside our chalet who had more rights and privileges than the high paying chalet dwellers. We arrived to find the chalet we had booked in January 2016 and paid the deposit for had been given to someone else. Once we eventually were allowed into "our" room, we found the toilet and basin were neither attached to the wall or the floor plus the shower is tiled with normal floor tiles which make them very slippery when wet with soap. With the result...

We went to ponta d' ouro with a Nissan MP200 and obviously we got stuck more than once. Eventually we drove to Khosibay to head back to SA because we were absolutely fed up! We called Gamboozini and spoke to Stephane. He arranged to come pick us up at the border and drove us the rest of the way with all our camping gear to the lodge. When we got there he immediately made us feel at home and made sure we were comfortable. We had such a good time staying there. The staff is amazing and management top nodge! It was the best experience! The bathroom facilities are clean and the showers have hot...

We stayed one night in the Gamboozini Lodge and it was a very nice weekend trip. It's only a five minute walk to the beach, the accomodation was quiet and the personnel very friendly. We've payed for the 4-person sleeping room (dorm), but we've been the only guests and we've been offered the two queenbed bungalows without paying additionally! This was very friendly! For people who don't need absolute luxury rooms, but want to stay in a cheap accomodation this one is a good opportunity.
