About Fransvliet Guest House

Fransvliet Guest House is a tranquil, luxury retreat, only 4 km from the heart of Franschhoek. It is situated on a working farm with growing grapes, olives and figs. There are beautiful mountain views surrounding the guest house for a relaxing stay. The individually decorated suites are pure luxury with absolute attention to detail and soft wineland colours that set the tone.

Spend time in the newly renovated 65-year old house, either inside or on the veranda, enjoying the view of the swimming pool and the vineyards. Celebrate each morning with either a continental or a full breakfast that will include seasonal specials. The sparkling pool is at your disposal for those hot lazy afternoons or snuggle up in your suite during winter in a comfy armchair with your own personal fireplace.

Meander through the beautiful garden on your way to your suite where something special will be flowering at all times. In season, luscious figs will be found on the trees and the scent of lemons may be in the air as well.

Situated in the Franschhoek Valley, with river frontage and with easy access to the main road, the guest house is the perfect location for a Cape Winelands getaway. The close proximity to Franschhoek, celebrated as South Africa's food and wine capital, makes for wonderful weekends of restaurants, wine tastings and exploration.

This was definitely one of the nicest guest houses I have ever stayed at. The staff were friendly, interested and not intrusive. The accommodation offered some of the best bells and whistles, from an iPod docking station, to a personal Bosch fireplace and Nespresso machine. The breakfast offering was sumptuous and divine, full of personal touches from self-made preserves to the blended juice of the day by Victor. The key items for me in a review are the quality of the bed, and the shower, because if those are good , I'm happy.  The bed can't be faulted I slept well. The shower was good, with...

The room was spacious and clean. Everything was well equipped. It was exactly what we had expected. The breakfast was absolutely great. It's worthy to visit.

We stayed at Fransvliet for two nights, but after arriving wish we'd booked in more time. It was set in a peaceful setting, looking out on a fragrant garden over the vineyards. The room was wonderful luxury, and we had fun with the wood burning stove and enjoyed the huge bathroom with giant shower and bath.Vicky helped us plan our days, and Vic's wife made the best breakfast of our whole 2 week trip in SA.We would love to come back and recommend it to anyone.Thank you for making us so welcome and for such a relaxing but fun-packed couple of days.

Great hospitality. Clean and comfy room with great attention to detail, making our stay all the better. The kids loved it too, especially the pool and pancakes for breakfast! Highly recommend to all.

My friend and I spent a very comfortable two nights at Fransvliet. The accommodation is really very good - super beds, pillows (so important) and linen all first class and the bathroom is a dream - so spacious. Nice touch to have an alarm on the room. The owner and staff are charming and helpful. We will definitely go back.
