About Forest View

Nestled in the sought-after tourist getaway of Clarens, Forest View offers everything needed to create a comfortable, memorable holiday for the whole family. The fully self-catering house is situated in the quiet, scenic area of Clarens called the Swartland, and is a leisurely 10-minute stroll away from shops and the town square, with its great selection of galleries and restaurants.

Forest View is surrounded by a large garden and boasts fantastic views of the surrounding mountains of the Rooiberg. Located opposite a wooded area, Forest View is also a birder’s paradise. The double volume living area of the house is large and welcoming, with two lounges, a dining area, fireplace, underfloor heating, and a spacious patio with built-in barbecue for entertaining family and friends. The house is north-facing, with large windows for maximum warmth and light.

Three bedrooms are able to accommodate seven people in total. Downstairs, the main bedroom is spacious, with twin beds, an extra single bed and built-in cupboards. Upstairs, the second bedroom has a double bed and adequate cupboard space for a longer stay. The third bedroom is an open-plan area on the landing at the top of the stairs and features twin beds, perfect for teenagers and young children. All bedrooms are fitted with wall-panel heaters for cold winter nights.

The two bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs, are equipped with a bath, basin, toilet and shower, with wall-mounted heaters to keep them warm in winter. The lower bathroom also has a washing machine and the kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering.

Forest View and its large garden are secured by a metal palisade fence which allows for families with small children to relax and unwind while the kids play outside. In addition, full DStv and a DVD player are provided, as well as under cover parking for two cars.

What a treat! A well looked after house and garden. More than enough space, lovely kitchen and cosy lounge. An amazing stay was had! If you are looking for a quiet getaway this is the place. A thousand thank you's!

Would make use of it again. Enough space and close to shops and restaurants - still nice and quiet, pleasant.

Lovely setting, well equipped but electric blankets would be far better than layers of blankets which get heavy and are inclined to slip off the bed during the night.

Wonderful! We had five days at Forest View from 26 to 30 December. Perfect place and time to be there. Even two days of on and off rain couldn't spoil anything. In fact, it brought in the fresh air that we don't know about in Johannesburg! And zillions of stars could be seen at night - also nothing of the sort in Johannesburg. I read all previous reviews and can only reiterate what has been said. 'Better than home' is probably the most appropriate. Everything we needed was available and the garden and trees are exquisite. The house is well situated out of the centre of Clarens, but a...
