About Drayton Guest Farm

Drayton is one of the oldest farms in the Overberg and the original mill, that dates back to the mid 1700's, is still on the farm, as well as part of the original wagon route.

The farm is only 8km outside Caledon, on the N2 in the direction of Riviersonderend. Visitors can reach the cottage by car and will only have to travel 800m of gravel road.On arrival guests will receive a freshly baked bread and home baked rusks.

A menu from which guests can order homecooked meals and fresh baking, to be enjoyed in the privacy of the cottage is also provided. Guests can relax on the veranda and enjoy the scenery, or take an easy hike to the waterfall in the nearby mountain. A small mountain stream also flows past the cottage.

The cottage is situated in a very quite and peaceful part of the farm. The host was very pleasant and went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable.

We love the place it's awesome most of all it is nature. Everything was on its place and very neat. The bedroom was perfect temperature for such a cold weather outside. Eish I have to go again. Thanks to the owners.

It was lovely for an overnight stop, just don't forget your milk as it is a 10 minute drive at least to the nearest shop. It would be nice if coffee creamer could be provided along with the tea/coffee/sugar. Otherwise it was a nice clean little cottage, nice to not have a TV. Very friendly little dog came to visit regularly.

We spent the afternoon sitting on the patio and marveling at the incredible bird life in the area. The water is mountain water so not good for drinking, but perfect for everything else. We had warm showers and comfy beds. It was a lovely, relaxing...
