About Dolphin Denn

Wake up to the awesome view of dolphins playing in the waves. Whales blasting water in the air and slapping their tails on the water as they play graciously with one another, all this while you are still lying in bed. The house has a large patio on the top floor with a spectacular view overlooking the sea. The swimming pool and braai area, also overlooking the sea, gives one peace and calmness while the kids are cooling off in the pool and you listening to the crackle of the fire sipping a refreshing drink.

Dolphin Den has luxury accommodation for the whole family and friends at affordable prices. There are three rooms to choose from, Dolphin, Whale and Shad. Dolphin is the main room and has an ensued bath room and a patio with the best of sea views. The room has a queen size bed and a sleeper couch that can accommodate a child. Whale and Shad shear a bathroom. Whale has a double bed and Shad two single beds in the room. The TV room on the top floor overlooking the sea and walks out onto the patio. Breakfast is served in English stile by a kook named Ron.

The sea is but a stone's throw away and the pleasure of fishing and diving at your doorstep. Beautiful beaches like Ivongo, Shelley, St Michaels and more are past on your way to Margate. The Wild Coast Casino and other well-known golf courses are in close vicinity.

The house is neglected and worn down. One must come with own linen and towels, spring clean the house and wash curtains when you get there to make your stay at least comfortable. Depended a lot on domestos and other cleaning detergents. Their linen and towels are old with stains, can only be used to wipe your muddy shoes. We needed spa treatments from run down mattresses. The sleeper couch stunk of urine and had to lock it away in one of the cupboards. Outdoor is not as bad and we made sure we are out most of the time. Cutlery, pots and crockery is beyond. The care taker Rhon was nice and he...

Magnificent views and well kept garden. House was rundown and desperate need of a makeover. The sheets were stained and everything was grubby. The sponge in the bathroom had pubic hair in it!! Most unhygienic! Everything needed to be washed before we used it.

The house itself is generally good except the front gate is a mission to open and close and is rotten. the house is advertised as a 15 sleeper but has approx. 10 sets of cutlery or less. The biggest down side is that the water supply to the upper level is very erratic. on the 2nd day we had no water (hot or cold) we had to buy buckets and carry water upstairs to bath and fill the cisterns. This house has great potential but poor maintenance. I gave this a one rate because I could not give it a Zero

Our stay was unpleasant. The place was very unclean, dirty and smelly. What was not broken was in a very dilapidated condition. The kitchen utensils, appliances and microwave were very dirty. Neither the radio nor tv worked (including normal SABC channels). The couches and mats in general were unclean, smelly and dusty. The bathroom mat stank of urine. Other people's used soaps and sponges were left in the bathroom. Could not sleep on one of the beds as it sunk due to broken base. Two smelly pairs of shoes were left in one bedroom cupboard. The cupboards were unclean. The outside area was unke...
