We loved the Lodge and would recommend it to any driving through Piet Retief

After travelling 7 hours and checking-in my family of four were advised the restaurant and bar was closed that evening as they were "catering out for a golf function". We ordered pizza delivery. On settling the bill the following morning reception advised that the price was double and there was a mistake with the quote that I had accepted. When I refused to pay the double amount we were told that they couldn't give us breakfast for that price although it was included in the quotation. We had no breakfast.Room 9 reeked of sewage - perhaps a nearby septic tank. We won't be back!
