Coverside Guest Farm
About Coverside Guest Farm
Located between the Great Kei River and the Hogsback Mountains, Coverside Guest Farm, near Cathcart in the Eastern Cape, offers a unique experience to all who visit. Stillness is what you will find in the veld; most people come here to relax, braai, read a good book, look at the stars and then go for a walk. Coverside offers majestic views up and down the valleys and across the plains as far as the eye can see.
Situated in what is known as the ‘Coverside Valley’ leading toward the upper course of the mighty Kei River, this farm offers much in its biodiversity; an abundance of bird life, wildlife and flora can be viewed in all their different stages throughout the year. Presently impala, eland, kudu, gemsbok, rhebuck, Burchell’s zebra, waterbuck, blesbuck, black wildebeest, warthog, bushpig, antbear, duiker, baboon, caracal, black-backed jackal and vervet monkeys, to name but a few, can all be seen on the 1500 hectares of grazing and browsing land.
Coverside Guest Farm is a working cattle farm too, home to a herd of over 250 beef cows, and growing. So for those wishing to get a taste of beef farming, feel free to roam the range and savour the outdoor working lifestyle. Coverside Guest Farm’s homely experience will no doubt appeal to the walker, bird watcher, game viewer, mountain biker and avid reader.
