About Cottage on the Kom

Kommetjie is a suburb of Cape Town located some 35 km from the city centre, in the heart of the Southern Peninsula. Here you will enjoy fantastic scenery, the peacefulness of the village atmosphere, and the intimate contact with nature.

The cottage is separate from the main house and is set in a garden environment, on the water's edge. The cottage is suitable for two guests, but if required, an additional two people can be accommodated upstairs on a mezzanine floor in two single beds. The en-suite bathroom consists of a shower, hand basin and toilet, and the lounge area is adjacent to a fully-equipped kitchen. Barbecue and Weber facilities are available and off-street undercover parking is also provided.

Even though it is a small village, Kommetjie has most amenities such as a mini-market, restaurants, pubs, Internet cafe, post office, laundry, and petrol station. Large malls and other services can be found some 8 km away.

Relaxing is hard to avoid, but once rested, nearby activities include surfing, kayaking, fishing, bird watching, beach walks on the famous Noordhoek Beach, extensive mountain walks, and mountain biking. Of course the treasures of the Southern Suburbs such as the Cape Point Nature Reserve and historical Simons Town are all on your doorstep. All of this and you are still only 40 minutes away from the V&A Waterfront and Table Mountain, via the beautiful Chapman's Peak Drive, and the Winelands of Stellenbosch.

The accommodation was exceptional. It’s a beautiful place, with the most stunning views and the area was pleasantly tranquil. I definitely enjoyed my stay.

Host was friendly and welcoming. Accommodation was clean and cozy. Fireplace was great in the evenings. Regular visits by the furkids was very welcome :)

We enjoyed our stay at Cottage on the Kom very much and Willies and our hostess Debbies attention to detail is evident throughout. We invited our son and his family over for lunch and Debbie even brought out stuff to play with for the little ones. The garden is lush and green - such a delight in these drought stricken times! We enjoyed watching the birds (spotted a black sparrowhawk twice!) and walks along the waters edge. Cottage on the Kom is a gem we would definitely return to.

The place is positioned very well, the cottage was clean and well equipped. It’s a nice, comfortable cottage and I really had a good stay.

Thank you Debbie and Willie for a wonderful stay. The cottage was immaculate. Attention to detail outstanding. Chocolates on the bed, fresh roses in vase, lavender sprigs, clean, cosy and romantic set-up. Just what we needed.
