About Whalesong Hotel & Hydro
Come and experience whales, dolphins, seals and other marine life first-hand in one of South Africa’s most elegant coastal towns on the Garden Route. Whalesong is Plettenberg Bay accommodation at its finest.
We offer 24 beautiful thatched rooms, ethnic-style décor and art work and your own bay view terrace from which to see and hear the magnificent ocean that washes our coastline. South Africans and visitors alike are delighted by customary, unsolicited visits from dolphins that join bathers for a swim.
Plettenberg Bay is encircled by indigenous forests with mountains to the north. Knysna, one of the Garden Route’s other famous towns, is only 20 minutes away and the Tsitsikamma Nature Reserve is a short drive to the east.
Safari: We will gladly make reservations for activities such as ocean safaris, the elephant sanctuary, nature reserve hikes, forest walks, etc.
Beach: We are right near three swimmable beaches, including a Blue Flag Beach.
Spa: The Greenhouse Spa is a haven in which to relax whilst highly qualified therapists pamper and nurture mind, body and soul. Massages, facials, a steam room, spa bath, body scrubs and wraps will instill a feeling of general well-being and rejuvenation.
Golf: We are about 4km from the Plettenberg Bay Country Club, for those guests wanting to play a round of golf.
Conference Venues: An executive boardroom is available and seats up to 20 delegates.
Family friendly: We have lots of activities near the Hotel, including an elephant experience and wildlife interaction trips, such as Monkeyland.
