About Tube 'n Axe Backpackers Lodge

Tube 'n Axe is situated in the quaint Storms River Village, surrounded by the fantastic mountains and forested gorges of the Tsitsikamma.
The lodge boasts a range of comfortable and affordable accommodation with inviting double rooms, an elevated bush camp, large dorm beds and plenty of secluded camp sites.
A vibey African bush style restaurant, entertainment and bar area equipped with big screen satellite TV, pool table, table soccer and bungee chords for those about to jump, will ensure that evenings are filled with fun!
On quiet nights you can nestle up in a quiet garden hammock or curl up on the couch in front of the fireplace. Or play a game of Cluedo, Pictionary, Scrabble, 30 Seconds, Monopoly, Pick-up-stix...
Friendly staff will point you in the right direction as you prepare to take on the Blackwater Tubing, World’s Highest Bungee, Waterfall Zip Slides, Canopy Tours, Snorkeling, Mountain Biking and a host of other fantastic adventures that the Tsitsikamma has to offer.

It is a beautiful place with nice communal bar and swimming pool. However the kitchen is under staffed. Only two cooks serving everyone. This of course results in waiting ridiculous amounts of time for something as simple as a baked egg...If you visit this part of the world to do the great activities that it offers and require at least 6 hours of sleep, renting one of the rooms like the kammasie or rooi els is not recommended. There does not seem to be rules on noise or who are allowed to enter and use your kitchen or living room. We had two ladies who invited their famalie of +-12 for a post...

A very small, dirty and poor quality room which we couldn't even get into on arrival - someone had to break in through the window to be able to open the door for us. A very pricey room considering what we got

Everything is very beautiful. The staff/crew are very friendly and helpful. Elridge, one of the chefs, is absolutely brilliant and his food is phenomenal.

Our double en-suite room (R650 on), was clean and comfortable, though getting in and out of the toilet/shower room was rather tight, and there was little room to put things if you're are travelling with much luggage.  The self-catering kitchen was extremely poorly stocked both with pans and utensils ( only I fork).  There were no mugs for a hot drink in the morning, though I was given some on asking.  It is the poorest supplied I have encountered; my impression is they wished you to buy the meals on offer, but this may not be the case.  The initial booking contact was most positive, but sadly...
