About Satara Rest Camp Kruger National Park SANParks

Satara is a busy camp, and not without reason. It is situated in an excellent game viewing area, with the bush relatively open and the animals plentiful and diverse. The camp itself has a rustic charm, with the bulk of the accommodation set out in a series of circles. Satara is well wooded and the bird-life is prolific.

At night the clink of fruit bats is fused with the chirping of cicadas and crickets. The calls of owls and nightjars add to the symphony that is punctuated intermittently by the whoop of hyena, the screech of jackal and the roars of lion.

Please note that the rates are subject to the number of adults and children staying. Rates include 1% Community Levy, but exclude daily conservation fees. These are to be paid directly to camp on arrival.

The accommodation was really dated and in need of urgent repair and upgrade. Monkeys were continually a problem in the camp. Nightly movies were a good highlight, bringing the rating up to 2 Stars.

Lovely camp and had an extremely enjoyable stay. Will definitely come back for a visit.

Unfortunately we stayed there only for one night, the chalets were clean and calm. it´s a perfect place to start different drives.
