About Oystercatcher Lodge

Oystercatcher Lodge is just a short journey from Cape Town, off the R27 West Coast Road, you will discover an exquisitely beautiful place called Shelley Point. Here you will find the Oystercatcher Lodge, an elegant villa literally on the beach. All guest rooms are en-suite with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, visible from your bed. It is the venue to experience the natural beauty of the West Coast in style.

A sumptuous breakfast is served in the dining room, or served al fresco in the summer overlooking the rocks and cobalt sea. The restaurant serves an excellent variety of seafood, steaks and continental cuisine. We invite you to relax and enjoy the tranquil beauty of the West Coast in Style.

Spend some quiet hours reading at the pool or in the comfortable lounge with Satellite TV, cappuccino/espresso machine constantly on-hand. Partake of a drink from the well-stocked bar and wander out onto the terrace to watch the magnificent sunsets. In the chilly weather gather around the cosy fire and enjoy a glass of sherry and glühwein, or perhaps one of the fine wines from the region.

The lodge is perfectly positioned for watching the Southern Right whales that frolic and calf for most of the year along these shores, often in the company of dusky dolphins. There is a 9 hole golf course within walking distance of the lodge.

We have a honeymoon suite, facilities for the disabled, conference workshops, swimming pool, German, French and Italian spoken, seasonal wild flowers, whale and bird watching and regret no children under the age of 12 years.

We loved the view; the bedrooms were excellent, LOVED the underfloor heating. We would have preferred to have a TV in the room though. Excellent Breakfast.

My wife and I had an amazing time at the Oystercatcher! Sue and Luc are amazing people and made us feel welcome the moment we stepped in. The lodge is something special. From watching the dolphins and seals to having an amazing walk on the beach just outside your room. Thank you thank you very much......Divan & Hester

As if the views aren't enough. This holiday accommodation exceeded any expectations I could have possibly had. I go on many mini vacations and choosing Oyster Catcher was definitely the best decision I could have made. I am so grateful and happy with the service and quality in which the apartments are kept.

Sue & Luc have a lot to be proud of. Location is stunning, facilities brilliant and service top notch. Sue even contacted us weeks prior to arrival to ask if she can book our dinners out as Paternoster/St Helena Bay restaurants book out weeks in advance. Great start to our Honeymoon with a bottle of bubbly in our room to welcome us!

Absolutely awesome!!! Beautiful view of the ocean, the delightful breakfast and friendliness of the owners and Staff. Having privacy, peace made this our favorite holiday destination. We will definately go back to the Oystercatcher Lodge again.

This beautiful beach boasts magical scenery and a typical Cape West Coast feel, with a pristine stretch of whit sand, tiny shell-strewn nooks, and beautifully etched rocky areas. Swimming and diving is very popular here.
