About Old Halliwell Country Inn
Built in the 1830’s and set on 250 acres of rolling lawns and forests overlooking the Karkloof Valley, Old Halliwell captures the charms and traditions of a more gracious age. Originally built as a fortified farmhouse, the main building now houses a library, games room, lounge, cosy bar with All the Sports Channels and Sky News, cigar lounge with a wrap-around patio and the Lemon and Lavender restaurant for all your culinary needs.There are 15 large private en-suite bedrooms leading onto the garden with heated towel rails, Open View HD TV (Not DSTV), tea and coffee-making facilities, open fireplaces and scenic views from their patios.The Halliwell Hall has the capacity for up to 350 guests for weddings or 300 guests for conferencing, but can be partitioned for smaller groups. Smithy’s Chapel seats 120 guests with a poolside gazebo, horse and carriage hire and photographic gardens. Old Halliwell is ideal for any celebration.Enhancing the landscape is the Old Halliwell rest home for horses, where loving owners have sent their fine steeds to while away their golden years in lush green pastures in the heart of the Midlands. The magnificent Midlands consist of golf courses, trout fishing opportunities, winding rivers, spectacular waterfalls, wild flowers and brilliant bird life. Explore the Midlands Meander with its many art galleries, restaurants, craft shops and so much more.
