About Eagles' Call Cottages & Tree House

Eagles’ Call is a birder’s paradise which can be found midway between Wilderness and Sedgefield on a small farm tucked between the Langvlei and Rondevlei lakes; both an integral part of the Wilderness National Park.

Guests have the option of three units in this beautiful neck of the woods, the Eagles’ Call Cottage and Chalet are shaded by trees and surrounded by an indigenous garden fed by crystal-clear water. The Tree House is a more rustic option for those with a taste for adventure.

The Cottage and The Chalet are cottage-style units with self-catering facilities and great braai areas, while the Tree House is ideal for those wanting to escape the city life and be more in touch with their natural surroundings.

Rondevlei and Malachite bird hides are within walking distance and ideal for birders.

We loved staying in this beautiful little cabin in the woods. The place was peaceful and Thandi the border collie was a welcome visitor for our three-year-old who could have thrown pine cones for her all day. The deck, from which to watch the birds and enjoy the wind in the trees, was a wonderful spot. The location is also perfect - a short drive to either Wildnerness or Sedgefield. We had a lovely time and would love to return. Wilderness national park, with its bird hide overlooking the lake, is right next door - a real bonus! We watched a pied kingfisher catch a fish :)

Pleasant view. The cottage needs a fridge.

We stayed in the tree house. The view was absolutely incredible. Everyone was very helpful and friendly and we felt right at home. Everything we needed was available and we could just relax and enjoy the beauty and peace and quiet. We'll definitely be back!

This place is truly a gem. Everything you need and more to explore the garden route or just sit on the stoep and listen to the birds. I will most definitely return for a third time.

Eagles' Call was fantastic and I will be back! A sanctuary in a birded forest with an indigenous garden. A beautiful cottage, with light and everything one could want and need. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

One of the least demanding walks in the Wilderness area, the 5 km Brownhooded Kingfisher Trail follows the meandering course of the Duiwe River. Lush river woodlands line the riverbanks and the path crosses the river frequently. Take care when...
