About Cedar Peak Guest Farm

Cedar Peak is a mountain-top farm located 180 km from the V&A Waterfront, reached via the beautiful Dasklip Pass. Situated in the Groot Winterhoek Conservancy, the farm borders the well-known private Beaverlac Nature Reserve and is approximately 10 km from the entrance to the Groot Winterhoek Nature Reserve. The farm also falls within the Greater Cederburg Biodiversity Corridor, recognised for special protection due to high levels of biodiversity.

The farm looks onto several mountain ranges, down into the Olifantsriver valley, and the lights of Citrusdal can be seen from the verandah at night. A large portion of the farm consists of Table Mountain sandstone rock formations. Their weird and wondrous shapes make this farm a truly special place. As the last farm on a road to nowhere, guests can enjoy peace and solitude.

The old main farmhouse comprises four bedrooms, two complete bathrooms, a huge verandah, and sizeable living area. The house can comfortably accommodate four adults and four children. There are two bedrooms with double beds, a children's room with a double bunk, and a further bedroom with two single beds. One of the rooms with a double bed also has an additional single bed, especially suitable for small children who want to sleep in the same bedroom as their parents. Good quality linen and towels are also supplied. The house has been furnished with period Cape cottage furniture and there are some beautiful items of restored furniture. The kitchen is fully-equipped and the house also features a large fireplace in the lounge and barbecue facilities.

In addition, we offer a two-bedroom self-catering cottage with exquisite views. Features include riet ceilings, a Dover stove, and antique furniture. One room has a double bed and one room has two single beds. The unit is fully-equipped for self-catering, with linen, bedding, and bath towels supplied.

We loved our 3 day stay at Cedar Peak . We really wanted to get as far away from the city as we could and this place was paradise. The walks are just amazing the scenery spectacular and the quiet and serenity was just what us city dwellers were looking for. An added bonus was we could take our Scotty along as dogs are welcome. The guesthouse is large and comfortable with a generous veranda and garden to braai and relax, my daughter loved the large trampoline. The caretaker lives close by and is extremely helpful and friendly supplying wood and advice as needed. All in all a wonderful rechargin...

We had the most epic weekend at Cedar Peak Guest Farm. The cottage was superbly appointed and had everything we needed. The drive over the pass to the farm was a great experience too. We hiked, swam in the dam, found some cool rare flowers and totally relaxed - we will definitely be back.

Had a really great weekend at Rooibos cottage. A beautiful and peaceful setting with wonderful hikes through the fynbos.  Will be sure to go back soon.  The only thing we would suggest is another easy chair in the sitting area there is only one couch, and perhaps an oven in the kitchen, Otherwise great and oh yes the bath is fabulous and the water lovely and hot.  However, very affordable.

Thank you for the opportunity to stay at Cedar Peak Guest Farm. We enjoyed our stay out in the fresh air. The children were kept busy trying to catch fish in the Dam (lucky catch of one only), pity about the rain! Thanks again.

Wonderful place. Beautiful views, lovely walks. We saw Rhebok and klipspringers, as well as several different birds. The flora is amazing- so many different plants in a small area.
