Welcome to 33 South Backpackers, where adventure meets comfort and luxury in the heart of Cape Town's legendary OBZ neighborhood. Our young and vibrant staff will ensure your days are action-packed, your nights are filled with excitement, and your bed is the epitome of relaxation.

Prepare to let go of any preconceived notions about backpacking as we invite you on a new and unique journey in Cape Town. Say goodbye to cold showers and rough linens, because at 33 South Backpackers, we believe in combining the thrill of adventure with the comfort of piping hot showers and fresh percale linen.

Our backpackers lodge has been designed to be truly special in every way. We define boutique as stylish, unique, and luxurious, and you'll find all of this and more in the cozy atmosphere of our Victorian house. Each of our rooms is themed after a culturally rich neighborhood in Cape Town, paying homage to the geographic location (33 South, 18 East) that inspired our name. So whether you choose to stay in the vibrant District 6, the colorful Bo-kaap, the chic Khayalitsha Shack, or the breezy Kalk bay room, our friendly staff, led by Cindy and Kim, will make sure you feel right at home.

Not only will you have access to a range of tours, activities, and great music at our reception, but our knowledgeable staff will also provide insider info on the best restaurants, surf spots, music festivals, and off-the-beaten-track adventures. Your comfort, safety, and security are our top priorities. Each guest is provided with a large locking cupboard with a digital code safe, an extra-sized bed with the softest fresh linen, and the night-watchman Elvis will keep you both safe and entertained throughout your stay.

We absolutely loved our stay at 33 South Boutique Backpackers. The place is full of character; the atmosphere is very welcoming and relaxed. We especially enjoyed having our meals outdoors in the charming backyard. Breakfast time is a real treat of freshly baked muffins by Elvis. The wonderful staff made us feel at home. We feel truly blessed to have had our quiet wedding ceremony at 33 South Boutique Backpackers. It was very special. Thank you!
