The "big game" is safely behind the Welgevonden fence which allows children to walk and play on Kololo and still have the adventure of small game surrounding them. Visit the neighbouring reserve, Welgevonden, and view the Big 5 or enjoy the view from your own comfortable chalet. Kololo offers guests a wide choice of accommodation when booking; from the tranquil Tented Camp in untouched surrounds, Drongo, Weaver and Kingfisher Chalets which are surrounded by acacia trees or Chalet Fish Eagle and Kudu, overlooking the Kololo River. Bush Villa's Cheetah, Elephant and Giraffe with three bedrooms and bathrooms are ideally suited for families and situated within close proximity to the swimming pool and restaurant. Guests can also book the 1916 restored farm house, Oom Piet’s Chalet and for those looking for a bit more luxury, there is the King's and Queen's Chalets which is set against the Kololo Mountains.

A hidden gem pitched high upon a hill south west of Marken, a small settlement in the Limpopo Province. The lodge was aptly named Ehlathini, which means ‘in the bush’ as the lodge overlooks the stunning African bushveld. The lodge is a place of quiet sophistication and tranquil elegance where our guests can experience the true beauty of the African bushveld. You are able to lose yourself in the surrounding nature; the smells, the sounds and rustic visuals. Ehlathini is a place of tranquil relaxation where our guests can determine the pace of their day. Our nature walks and game drives bring you up-close to an array of bird life, giraffe, zebra, kudu, bluewilde beest and other antelope species. Crisp and clear night skies let you stargaze for hours loosing yourself, almost touching the Southern Cross and Orion’s belt. Our promise is that you will leave our home in the bush with special memories with a longing to return. At Ehlathini Lodge we offer you the absolute luxury of Time, Space and Solitude! You can literally sit for hours on the terrace and watch the animals at the watering hole, listen to the birds in the garden, become one with the sound of flowing water, all whilst sipping on your favourite hot or cold beverage. If however you feel more adventurous, the following might tickle your fancy. There is our swimming pool, Game Drives (game viewing of the big four can be arranged on request at neighbouring farms), nature walks, bird watching, exploring Lephalale and surrounds (our closest town), golfing, spas, tours, hunting packages and last but not least we have stargazing picnics.

Welgevonden is a Big Five reserve, known for its contribution to research in the areas of both game and bush management. At 37 500 hectares in size, Welgevonden Private Game Reserve lies in the Waterberg plateau, just north of Johannesburg. Here guests enjoy unlimited traversing through the reserve and experience an environment where biodiversity, conservation and game viewing are managed in harmony. The evocative wilderness area offers an exclusive, intimate experience of the African bush with only a limited number of guests having access to the reserve at any one time. No private vehicles are permitted, which ensures minimal human impact and the ultimate wilderness experience. What makes Ndlovu Lodge different is its complete privacy. The lodge is rented as a unit regardless of the number of guests in the party. Guests bring their own food and refreshments, and meals are prepared by the resident executive chef according to the guests’ requirements. Two exclusive game drives per day are available to the guests at times that suit them. Ndlovu Private Game Lodge caters for small groups – either for leisure purposes to enjoy the natural surroundings and plentiful game or as a corporate escape or conference venue away from the city rush. It’s high altitude, temperate climate and malaria free environment makes it worth a visit all year round. Welgevonden is certainly one of the finest places to watch wildlife, sense wilderness and experience the true spirit of Africa.
