Molema Bush Camp is situated on the banks of the Limpopo River in the Tuli Block, about 30 km downstream from Platjan Border in the eastern-most corner of Botswana. Molema is located on privately-owned land immediately to the west of the Northern Tuli Game Reserve, in an area soon to be incorporated into the Greater Mapungubwe Transfrontier Conservation Area, and is very easily accessed from South Africa. Tuli Wilderness’ private and exclusive 24,000-acre unfenced concession of Botswana wilderness makes an ideal getaway or stopover point for travellers between Botswana and South Africa. Molema offers self-catering accommodation in wooden chalets, permanent dome tents and camping sites. The accommodation is exquisitely located close to the banks of the Limpopo River, shaded by huge Leadwood and Mashatu trees. There are four wooden chalets, each with an en-suite bathroom containing a shower, toilet, basin, a veranda and a braai stand. These are comprised of three twin chalets, and one family chalet containing a double bed and bunk bed. One chalet is in a very private site overlooking the Limpopo River, but please note that it is 300 m from the kitchen. Towels, bedding and bathroom amenities are provided in the chalets, along with a daily housekeeping service. There is a fully-equipped kitchen with a fridge, freezer, gas stove, cutlery, crockery, glasses and cooking utensils, and a boma area available for chalet guests. There are three camping sites, each with private ablutions, containing a shower, toilet, basin, and a braai stand. A maximum of eight persons and two vehicles are allowed per site unless the entire campsite is booked by the same group. There are two permanently-erected dome tents, each containing two ‘camp cots’ supplied with linen and a private ablution shared between the two tents.

Elephants, leopard, bushbuck, bush pigs, warthogs and African wild cats roam the area, and can be seen drinking at the waterhole just below the camp. It is not only a unique wilderness area with an abundance of African wildlife, but also has a rich archaeological history. This camp-style accommodation consists of seven double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and can accommodate 14 adults plus four children, who can sleep in the four bunk-beds. The reception area comprises a sitting room and adjoining eating area. The lodge has conference room or library, an office and large kitchen. The garden has a pool and pool-deck overlooking the Limpopo River. The manager’s camp is located within the confines of the site but is detached from the main lodge.

The Northern Tuli Game Reserve is a hidden gem. Tucked away in the easternmost corner of Botswana, it is a unique, timeless part of Africa with spectacular wildlife, breath-taking landscapes and a fascinating history. Between Tuli’s time-sculpted kopjes and the legendary Limpopo River lies the Tuli Safari Lodge. The lodge could easily be described as a most welcome surprise, a verdant oasis in a ruggedly beautiful wilderness, and a yin to Tuli’s yang. The lodge offers just eleven elegant suites nestled in peaceful, spacious gardens shaded by ancient trees. All the suites can be made up as doubles or twins and are large enough to accommodate two children under 12 on single beds sharing with their parents if required. We can pair suites for families or friends who would like some separation without being too far apart. All children are welcome at Tuli Safari Lodge under strict adult supervision. Children under the age of two will be at no charge when sharing with two adults. Please inquire for rates for children aged 2 to twelve years. Time spent in this relaxing retreat complements the varied safari adventures in the reserve beyond the lodge gates. These include guided game walks, hides visits, horse rides, community visits, after dinner drives and day trips to Mapungubwe National Park and World Heritage site Tuli is easily accessible from South Africa, and fits in well with a trip incorporating the Waterberg, Kruger National Park and the World Heritage site of Mapungubwe. It is also a natural staging post en-route to the Kalahari, Okavango or Chobe, and on to Victoria Falls. Such is the magical soul of Tuli. We look forward to sharing it with you.

Set in the heart of the vast and exclusive Northern Tuli Game Reserve in eastern Botswana, Tuli Wilderness Camp offers a wonderful natural location to awaken the explorer in you and to enjoy an authentic wilderness experience reminiscent of bygone Africa, complete with unspoilt landscapes and abundant wildlife. The Northern Tuli Game Reserve boasts the world’s largest elephant population on privately owned land, providing phenomenal elephant sightings and fantastic photographic opportunities. Lion, leopard, cheetah, spotted and brown hyena are amongst the many carnivore species that occur on the reserve. Large herds of free-roaming eland, zebra and wildebeest are seen regularly and many other plains game are also found in the area. Birding at Tuli Wilderness is excellent, with over 350 species identified in the area. Tuli Wilderness borders on the Limpopo River in the south and on the Motloutse River in the east, and many small tributaries of these rivers criss-cross the land in between. The Tuli area is also rich in archaeological heritage beautiful San rock art sites have been discovered alongside numerous archaeological sites dating back from the Stone Age. Scattered artefacts are still being discovered over the concession. Tuli Wilderness Camp and the reserve is completely unfenced and game roam freely. As the land is privately owned, off-road game and night drives can be conducted, providing ample opportunity for the best possible game viewing. The camp is located along the shady floodplain of the Limpopo River, 600 m from the river itself, under the massive riverine trees. Accommodation consists of five comfortable, fully serviced safari-style tents. Each tent sleeps up to two guests in twin single beds and includes en-suite showers and flush toilets; hot water is supplied. Electric fans and both electric and battery-powered lamps are supplied in each tent, and all bed linen, towels and soap are also provided. Three wholesome meals are provided each day. Camp attendants are on hand to assist guests with unpacking on arrival, service the camp and tents daily, provide hot water in the showers, and ensure that there is a fire going at all times. There is a spotlight overlooking the waterhole at camp. Game such as elephants, leopard, bushbuck, bush pigs, warthogs and African wild cats can be seen drinking at the waterhole just below the camp. Two activities per day are included in our rates, you can select from the following activities; professionally guided morning or afternoon wilderness walks, professionally-guided game-drives in an open 4x4 safari vehicle, and night drives. Please note that there is a self-catering rate at R1155.00 per person and R1722.00 for single.

The lodge offers guests 13 Suites, four campsites, as well as a River Chalet and a Rondavel, fusing luxury with a bushveld atmosphere. Each of the campsites features electricity and water, with shared ablution facilities. The lovely Suites are comfortably furnished with twin, king- or queen-size beds and have private bathrooms. Each Suite is also air-conditioned and equipped with a TV, as well as tea and coffee-making facilities. The River Chalet and Rondavel are furnished with twin beds and have private bathrooms. The units are equipped with a TV and fans and tea and coffee facilities are also provided. The entire camp is carpeted with green lawns, while the sparkling pool offers a perfect retreat from the midday heat. The area is rich in wildlife since most of the surroundings is unfenced, allowing the animals to roam freely between the Motloutse and Limpopo Rivers.
