    Robertson Reviews

    Louise, Walkerville
Robertson town is busy, noisy, and not very attractive, but the surrounding farmlands and mountains are beautiful. There are loads of open wineries and drives to neighbouring small towns, making it a good place to stay and use as a base.

    Beautiful, bustling town!
We really enjoyed our weekend in and around Robertson! There are plenty of wine and olive estates open for tasting on both Saturday and Sunday, which makes a quick weekend away so worthwhile! And plenty of great restaurants to choose from. Make the effort to go up towards the mountains as the scenery changes completely and the semi-desert turns to beautiful lush forests. We stayed at De Hoop Cottages so were fortunate enough to enjoy the lush beautiful mountains from our porch. We also really enjoyed Saggy Stone Brewery for both their beer and their food (but apparently Sundays are too busy...

Warm welcome in the Valley of Wine & Roses!
Robertson is an attractive town in the Cape Winelands with Victorian buildings, jacaranda-lined streets and vineyards bordered with rose bushes.Along with its wines, there is a variety of attractions, activities, accommodation, and culinary delights. This and the awesome scenery and hospitality make it a superb getaway. Don't miss the festivals: Wacky Wine Weekend, Hands on Harvest, Wine on the River, Robertson Slow and the Jacaranda Festival.

    Unspoilt and unpretentious
Without knocking the Stellenbosch and Franschoek's of the world, these aren't everyone's scene - and don't suit everyone's budget. In and around Robertson the farms are equally good, offering a wide variety of restaurants and wine tasting experiences that are perhaps slightly less "fine dining" and more just plain good value. Van Louveren's shredded pork belly pizza can't be beaten! For a family friendly craft beer tasting, try Saggy Stone. We stayed at Orange Grove Farm - quite possibly the best value luxury accommodation we have ever stayed at.

    Langnaweek in Robertson
