Port Alfred a small town with heart
This town offers visitors a glimpse into life run at a slow pace; so arrive without intentions of speeding from one end to the other – there is no destination too far to explore.Residents include a fair amount of German and British folk who have retired here, and from here they travel to see family around the world. Miles of beaches invite folk to play, run, walk, search for treasures or do nothing - let your stress dissipate while the music of the sea lulls you into a restful mode. Sunset picnics are a great way to enjoy the summer 's evenings.P...see more

We stayed in Port Alfred for one night as we were doing the Kowie Race on the Saturday. It's a nice town with a beautiful small harbour and awesome river views. The roads needs attention. The Race itself could have been better attended and it is a pity, since it really was well organized and on a very scenic route. Perhaps a little more promotion would help as the Port Alfred area is well worth a visit.
