The Honnehokke Resort was the first establishment offering accommodation in Hondeklipbaai. The Honnehokke Resort was established in 1993, renovated in 2013, and has been pointed out by various magazines as the most friendly holiday establishment on the Namaqualand, West Coast. Our chalets are spacious, homely, comfortable, clean, and fully equipped. Should you need anything, we will try our best to provide it. Experience an exquisite sleep under our goose down duvets. We can accommodate one to six guests at affordable prices. All our chalets have en-suite bathrooms in the main bedrooms, no need to venture outside in the middle of the night. Each chalet has a private braai area, but should you refer, you can also make use of the braai area in the entertainment area. The Honnehokke Resort is a tranquil oasis for those tired of the buzz of City life. You can relax with a book from our extensive library, enjoy hours at the beach, without having to share it with others, wander around in safety, watch the beautiful sunsets, go cycling and many more. We also offer you table tennis, a pool table and foosball. For the energetic, we have a Trojan Power Station Gym. We also welcome your socialized pets, as we know you love yours as much as we love ours. We pride ourselves with the fact that we have the only swimming pool in town where our guests, those not brave enough to face the cold waters of the ocean, can cool down. The swimming pool and entertainment area now is under-roof to provide shelter against the well-known West Coast wind. Breakfast and dinner can be booked prior to arrival.

Frontier River Resort is under new ownership and is a luxury tented resort situated on the South African bank of the Orange River, just 5 km from the border on the N7. Built on a hill, the resort has spectacular views of the river and Namibia and is the ideal stop over location between South Africa and Namibia. The resort is also ideally situated for any 4x4 enthusiasts looking for a luxurious and comfortable alternative to camping. We offer accommodation in six luxury free-standing permanent safari-style tents. Each tent contains an en-suite bathroom, air-conditioning and has only one entrance. The bathrooms were built using stones collected from the surrounding area and each tent is surrounded by grass and incorporated with local stones. A tented catering boma kitchen equipped with a built in braai, work surface, fitted stove and oven, double basin, a table and benches is available for use by guests. Wood, ice and water is sold on the premises. The Orange River, one of South Africa's major rivers, is truly one of the purest adventure trails in Southern Africa. The Gariep River, or Great River as it is called by the local Nama people, offers a unique outdoor experience to those who seek tranquility and adventure. The Orange River cuts through the Richtersveldt Desert Reserve and is now part of the Transfrontier transformation parks. Days are spent with early morning paddling, swimming, floating, bird watching and negotiating some rapids and fast-flowing water. Guides will take you through the steps of paddling through rapids, hiking and in general discover the eco system of the desert.

While you are there, take the opportunity to try angling at the Olifants River and Clanwilliam Dam, well-known for smallmouth bass, yellowfish and largemouth bass.

The Clanwilliam Dam itself offers ideal opportunities for boating, canoeing, waterskiing, yachting and powerboating. Pack a picnic, and make a day of it with the family that they will never forget.

The Cedarberg has idyllic pools, a godsend on a hot day. The Olifants River also offers swimming opportunities throughout its course.
