Barberton Nature Reserve

Description

Barberton Nature Reserve is a popular getaway with residents from the surrounding towns of Nelspruit and Barberton. The reserve encompasses a typical South African bushveld landscape and is ideal for any type of vehicle.

Visitors can spot a variety of larger mammals such as kudu, mountain rhebuck, zebra, grey duiker, impala, wildebeest, klipspringer and red duiker. You can also relax around the Noordkap River which flows through the reserve or in the designated picnic area.

Birdwatching is a popular activity in the reserve, with an exotic mix of different grassland and Lowveld birds. Alternatively, you can explore the reserve on foot as there are many well-marked bushwalk routes.
