About Lake Tanganyika

Lake Tanganyika is truly a unique natural wonder of the world. In the spectacular Rift Valley it spans throughout 4 countries, making it the world’s longest Lake at over 675 km.

Lake Tanganyika is home to teeming aquatic life with over 300 species of fish, of which most are unique and found no where else; great for sports fishing. There are many activities to be done from scuba diving, snorkelling, fishing, water sports, exploring Nsumbu National Park, to scenic boat cruises.

One of Zambia’s rivers, The Kalambo (which forms the border with Tanzania) features Kalambo Falls, just 8 km from the lake. At 220 m high, Kalambo Falls is Africa’s 2nd highest uninterrupted waterfall, twice as high as the mighty Victoria Falls in Southern Zambia.

The mystique and magnetism of Lake Tanganyika is unequivocal and an experience of a lifetime.
